New Routines

I’m back at work & Noelle Girl is almost 3 months old already. How the heck did that happen?! These past 12 weeks flew by and I don’t like it one bit. Not one bit, I say!

The good news is that Noelle & Campbell are both thriving! I guess technically, I am, too. I haven’t cried at drop off the past few days so that’s a win. #progress I know my babies are in good hands, but this Mama Heart of mine aches to go scoop them up and cuddle them all day instead. I really hope that feeling never goes away.

Don’t get me wrong, that newborn stage is ROUGH. And when you throw in a 2 year who thinks he’s a dinosaur, it’s straight up brutal at times. BUT: this chaos is exactly what we prayed for; it’s what we dreamed of; it’s what we joyfully waited for, for SO LONG.

We’re living proof that science is freaking cool, God does answer prayers, and age is just a number. (Take that geriatric pregnancies!) I mean, look at this family. You’d never know from this picture just how much pain & suffering we endured to get here.

(shoutout to Dawn Roe Photography for our newborn photos!)

It is not lost on me that THIS is the outcome we hoped for all those years ago when we first began our journey to becoming a family. We are truly blessed and I will continue to thank God every day for His provisions.

Noelle is taking her bottles like a champs & sleeping through the night. We’re talking 9+ hours of uninterrupted sleep! #PraiseBe Just like her older brother, she doesn’t care to nap during the day - unless it’s a contact nap, but did I mention she’s sleeping through the night?! She’s recently found her hands and her voice and it is the absolute cutest thing when she smiles.

Kirk & I were a bit nervous with how Campbell Man was going to do going from an only child & everyone’s favorite to sharing the spotlight. Y’all. That dude is the BEST big brother! He freaking loves Noelle. Aggressively, but he loves her! He’s all about helping with her, whether it’s holding her bottle or patting her on the back to help her burp. He’ll even bring dirty bottles to the kitchen sink and grab fresh burp cloths when we need them - which is frequent. The only time we’ve seen him get a little jealous is when you’re holding Noelle. You better make room to hold Campbell, too. I don’t mind that at all.

I love a good before/after photo and I’m SO glad that I had both babies’ embryos painted. These might just be my favorite pics of our kids. These pics are the perfect example of “How it Started vs How it’s Going” and I could not love it any more than I already do! Can we also talk about how much my kids look alike?! Or at least looked alike? I feel like Noelle is growing into her own now and doesn’t resemble Campbell as much anymore.

So here we are… growing into our new routine as a family of four. Some days are easier than others, but we’re each getting the hang of it. Due to our work schedules, I get to solo parents in the mornings and Kirk gets to solo parent in the afternoons, so that’s been a fun new task to learn. To those of you who solo parent on the reg - I see you. You’re a badass. This is not for the weak of heart.

Y’all feel free to stick around. I’ll continue to update the blog on all things Campbell & Noelle as we joyfully live out the chapter we waited so long for!
