GIRL!
Holy schnikes. Our miracle baby #2 is a beautiful, chunky, baby G I R L. ::insert heart eye emojis::
We are pleased to introduce you to our daughter, Noelle Denny Fabre, born on Friday, February 6th at 7:51am. Weighing in a whopping 10lbs 2oz & 21in long.
The significance of her middle name makes me tear up. Denny was my paternal grandmother’s maiden name. Anyone who knew Grandma, knew she was a force to be reckoned with & difficult to love at times. She lived to be 99yo before she passed away in 2023. Toward the end of her life, she struggled with reality. Kirk & I had taken a trip to visit her in late 2022 when we were deep in the trenches of IVF. We knew that if we ever had a girl, we wanted to honor Grandma & name the baby after her. During our visit, when Grandma was still coherent & very much herself, we shared with her our plans. I’m pretty sure that day was the first time I’d ever seen Grandma cry. While Grandma passed away before she could meet either of our children, I am glad that we were at least able to share with her our naming plans.
Both Campbell & Noelle were scheduled c-sections at 39weeks. However, I don’t remember Campbell’s delivery & my recovery being this difficult. Maybe I blocked it out?? But this go-round has been rough. My medical team is doing a good job of helping me stay on top of the pain, but this momma is struggling more than I thought I would be. I know I need to show myself some grace. I had a 10lb baby cut out of my body 24hrs ago!
We attempted to introduce Campbell to his little sister yesterday. Much to our surprise, he was completely unfazed. He was more interested in the new books we got him & looking out the hospital window for fire trucks. #SuchABoy He did say “Hey Baby” but that was the extent of his interaction. I guess that’s better than a complete meltdown or instant jealousy.
We’ll likely remain in the hospital for a few more days. Please continue to send all your prayers and good vibes our way as we figure out our new life as a family of FOUR.
